August Meeting at Memphis Nites: Love, Honor & Betray by Kimberla Lawson Roby

The What’s Happening Myron Book Club was once again a success as we continued to invade East Memphis. We met a second time at Memphis Nites on Kirby Parkway and were well received by the staff and management once again. They even prepared a special menu for the WHM Book Club. Local author Florence Howard spoke about her book, “From Sagging to Success” and shared the story of one of the individuals featured in her book. Even State Representative G.A. Hardaway stopped by to say hi. And as always we had a great time hanging out with each other. Were about to do it again next month so get ready. Instead of the third Saturday, were gonna meet on the 4th Saturday which is September 28th. This will give everyone the opportunity to attend the BWABC Literary Conference on September 21st. We will be at a new location in East Memphis. September’s meeting will be at The Legend located at 7144 Winchester Road from 4 until 6pm. The next book in Kimberla Lawson Roby’s series is “The Reverend’s Wife”. Mark your calendars and meet us there!
